Choosing a new Cochlear™ Nucleus® Sound Processor?

Here are some tips to help Cochlear™ Nucleus® recipients

Even though you are excited to know you have the option to upgrade your Nucleus Sound Processor, it can also seem daunting to be faced with a choice.

Whether you prefer a device that sits off-the-ear such as the Nucleus Kanso® 2 Sound Processor, or one that sits behind-the-ear, like the Nucleus 8 Sound Processor, it comes down to choosing for your preferences and lifestyle.

The technology in Nucleus and Kanso sound processors offers the same great benefits when you upgrade:

Connect without compromise

Stream calls, music and entertainment directly from your compatible* Apple or Android™ device. Adjust device settings, access personalised information and get help locating a misplaced sound processor with the Nucleus Smart App.

Be an active participant

Stream wirelessly to actively engage in meetings and classroom discussions, listen to your favourite TV show and pair to Bluetooth® devices, such as your laptop, with the help of Cochlear True Wireless™ Devices.

Experience more

Built to withstand dust, dirt, sand and water, both the Kanso 2 and Nucleus 8 sound processors are designed for adventures. With a Cochlear Aqua+ accessory, the sound processors are waterproof. #

Wear with confidence

For extra reassurance, a range of wearing options are available to suit an active lifestyle.

Focus on what matters

With two microphones, built in SmartSound® iQ with SCAN technology, and ForwardFocus *, these sound processors help you hear your best wherever you are.1,2,*

Monitor and track hearing progress

Access personal listening data to help you or your child meet listening goals with Hearing Tracker, available in the Nucleus Smart App. For those who are not able to reliably report sound quality changes, you can monitor the microphone input to ensure they’re accessing sounds.

Stream to both ears

Bimodal users report improved speech understanding4-7 and perception of music8, and a more natural hearing experience3, compared with using a cochlear implant or hearing aid alone. In a study, bimodal users also reported 95% satisfaction with their hearing performance compared to 9% when they used two hearing aids.9 With our smart bimodal hearing solution, you can stream directly from a compatible smartphone to your ReSound hearing aid and sound processor. ^

So, how can you choose?

The graphic on page 2 here <<Link local comparison document or chart>> will help you compare the different devices to help you choose. Think about what’s going to be important and help you live life the way you want.

Talking to loved ones or others with experience can help too. Get in touch if you’d like to be connected with a Cochlear volunteer who has already upgraded.
