Experiencing the best live TV can offer

Tips for streaming live sports and other TV shows

For an avid sports fan and half marathon runner, Tony, watching live sports brings enormous enjoyment. But he says subtitles can be difficult to follow, or sometimes even unavailable, during live sports broadcasts.

Tony overcomes this challenge by streaming directly from the TV to his sound processor. Using a Cochlear™ Wireless TV Streamer, he can hear the live commentators in real time rather than having to rely on subtitles.

Hearing the commentary during an event ‘greatly adds to my enjoyment,’ he says. “I can also hear the interviews with the athletes afterwards, which is a bonus. I enjoy being able to hear the explanations of the various techniques. It brings much more color, meaning, and interest to hear former champions share their expertise.”

The Wireless TV Streamer is part of the Cochlear True Wireless™ range of devices, which allows you to wirelessly stream audio to your sound processor from your TV.

An added benefit of streaming is that it gives you the freedom to move around while you’re still in range of the TV, making it ideal for live TV shows of all kinds. For example, if you want to pop into the kitchen for a snack or a drink, you can keep listening to the commentary and not miss a key moment.

Streaming technology is always evolving, with even greater sound clarity and more streaming options now than ever before.

For Amazon Fire TV, Cochlear also offers Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) support on compatible models. You can use direct streaming from Fire TV to the following sound processors: Cochlear Nucleus® 8, Nucleus Kanso® 3, and Baha® 7 sound processors.±

If you have a Nucleus 8, Kanso 3, or Baha 7 sound processor, you’ll also be ready for next- generation Bluetooth® LE Audio1 when it’s available.2

Bluetooth LE Audio will deliver better sound quality than the previous generation, Bluetooth Classic, giving you the best possible audio experience.

And remember, if you don’t want to miss any scores, commentary or winning performances when you’re not in front of the TV, you can also stream audio directly from a compatible Apple or Android™ device wherever you are.
