If you have a Cochlear™ Baha® 5 sound processor and use the Baha 5 Smart App to control it, we have some exciting news for you. You can now upgrade to the latest app, which offers a better app experience, including Apple Watch control.
The Baha Smart App is compatible with all Baha 5 sound processors and has more features to help you personalise your hearing. You can adjust the volume, change programs, access streaming services, locate your sound processor, and more.*
However, this also means that the Baha 5 Smart App will no longer be supported and will soon be removed from the App Store and Google Play. You can still keep it on your phone, but there will not be any future updates, and if you uninstall the app, you won’t be able to install it again.
What’s different?
The Baha Smart App has all the same functions you know from the Baha 5 Smart App and more. If you use an Apple Watch, you’ll be able to control your sound processor using it. The Baha Smart App also offers a more stable app experience.
How to download the Baha Smart App
We strongly recommend you download the Baha Smart App as soon as possible so you can enjoy the benefits of the new technology. To do so, follow the simple steps for your smartphone or tablet:
For Apple iOS users:
- Tap the link below to download the Baha Smart App from the App Store.
- Uninstall the Baha 5 Smart App from your phone.
- Unpair your Baha 5 sound processor from your phone by going to Settings > Bluetooth and tapping the icon next to your sound processor name. Then tap “Forget This Device”.
- Open the Baha Smart App and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Baha 5 sound processor with your phone.
- You can now start using the Baha Smart App to control your Baha 5 sound processor.
Download the Baha Smart App from the App Store
For Android users
To use the Baha Smart App, your phone must be running Android™ OS10 or newer*. Please check your phone’s current OS version and update if needed before following the steps below.
- Tap the link below to download the Baha Smart App.
- Once downloaded, uninstall the Baha 5 Smart App and unpair your Baha 5 sound processor from your phone.
- Open the Baha Smart App and follow the on-screen instructions.
- You can now start using the Baha Smart App.

For those already on the Baha Smart App
Easy – make sure you are using the latest version available to ensure it’s compatible with your Baha 5 sound processor.
Don’t forget your Favourites
You won’t be able to bring your ‘Favourites’ from the Baha 5 Smart App. Before you delete your old app, write down your Favourites and recreate them in the Baha Smart App.
