Summer 2020

Cochlear Family News

There’s a saying in English that people behaving in a strange or unpredictable way are ‘as mad as a March hare.’  For sure, the madness this year was not restricted to March! Indeed, the whole spring season was ‘loco’ (to steal a word from our Spanish friends).

Now summer is finally here. It’s a time when we traditionally enjoy warmer weather, vacations and fun. At CochlearTM we are optimistic by nature so we’re looking on the cheerful and sunny side to bring you some news to brighten your summer days.

We have advice from Kelly, a Baha® recipient and recruitment consultant to help you advocate for your needs at work. Kelly’s advice is equally relevant for CI recipients, so take a look if you are thinking about applying for a new job.

Tips & tricks this issue relate to using the Find My Processor function in the Nucleus® Smart App and Baha 5 Smart App. And, if you would like to increase your confidence talking on the phone, head over to our rehab article. Recipient Charlotte explains what helped her overcome her reluctance to use the phone.

We don’t want to wish the summer away but, if you have children starting pre-school or reception, September will be here before you know it. Our Kids & Teens article is a question and answer session with parents who share their advice about how to make this big change as easy as possible for you and your child.

Wishing you a happy summer.
