How are your New Year’s Resolutions going? Whether your plans include travel, connecting with family and friends, working hard at school or improving your music listening, we’re right beside you, cheering you on!

Here at Cochlear, our new year plans include some exciting new advances for Cochlear recipients, and we are working hard on those.

We are thrilled when Cochlear Family members are among the first to hear what’s new. We know that many of you will find the new bimodal functionality in the Nucleus Smart App very convenient; and Baha 5 users will also get an improved app experience by switching to the updated Baha Smart App. We also wonder how many of you with Apple devices have already started using the innovative accessibility tools that were released with the iOS17 updates.

We received a lot of positive feedback on our article in Issue 27 about how your suggestions led to the development of the Nucleus® 8 Sound Processor. So, in this issue we’ve followed up with an article to explain how your “wish list” informed the development of the Baha® 6 Max Sound Processor. Our developers are dedicated to helping make your listening experience better every single day and your requests are genuinely appreciated.

Articles in this issue are packed with tips on how to get the most from your devices. And much of the advice comes directly from other recipients.

• We share research findings about why direct streaming is beneficial for Cochlear recipients. And Richard, who is a professional musician and recipient, gives a link for his Spotify playlist to get started if you want to better enjoy music.
