We have been undergoing a total refurbishment of our office over the past few months. As part of the changes we’re making, we have created a specially designed room where we will be able to talk to those who have had or are considering a hearing implant from Cochlear and their families in a quiet and comfortable environment.
Last month we asked members of our Cochlear Family community to suggest a name for this new room and we were inundated with responses! Our refurb steering committee reviewed the suggestions and a winning name was chosen.
The name of our new room is ‘Quintus’, a suggestion submitted by mum Charlotte on behalf of daughter Olivia. Quintus Pedius was the first recorded deaf person in history who lived during Roman times. A relative of Emperor Augustus and talented young painter, he lived to the age of only 13 years.
Here is a visualisation of what the room will look like. We are so excited to start using it when it is finished in the coming weeks.
Thank you to everyone who suggested a name for this new room, you had such fantastic ideas it’s a shame we couldn’t use them all.
