I am the Professional and Consumer Engagement Specialist for Cochlear Implants, in the UK. This is a split role which means I train audiologists on referral awareness, as well as supporting potential cochlear implant recipients. I am fairly new in Cochlear terms as I started in January of this year, but I have been working in Audiology for a number of years and have a PhD in Cochlear Implant Speech Processing technology.
What inspires you at Cochlear.
All of our amazing Volunteers! They do such a brilliant job supporting potential implant recipients. So many people have told me what a difference it made to them having the opportunity to speak to an actual recipient before making their final decision.
A little bit about me
Dancing is the way I relax out of work and I’ve being doing Ceroc for the last 5 years or so. I’m also hoping to do the Southampton Half Marathon next April…so I better get training! I am lucky enough to live very close to the beautiful New Forest. I spent a lot of time in this area when I was growing up and I still enjoy exploring it today, especially when accompanied by my parent’s soppy Lurcher, Guinness.
